Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle provides a safe and confidential place for pupils and parents at Dalton School.

Three members of staff at our school have unique roles in offering skilled and appropriate support to pupils and their families.

The three roles can be summarised as follows:

Learning Mentor – Elaine Eastwood – aims to provide confidential and individual support to pupils experiencing difficulties at school or in some cases at home for a variety of reasons; to improve parent and school relationships and to overcome the barrier to learning in a safe and caring environment.

School Community Liaison – Angela Beaumont aims to enhance the opportunities and raise the aspirations of families and the wider community, to offer workshops and courses to parents and to improve attendance and punctuality.

Behaviour Improvement Programme – Linda Brook – aims to improve the pupil’s behaviour in school, to reduce exclusions, to work with parents of pupils with challenging behaviour; to provide alternative strategies to help with behaviour and provide a safe “Time Out” space for pupils to calm down and reflect.
