Happy New Year everyone. It's great to be back at school but I am finding it hard to get used to these very dark mornings!
We've got lots of things planned for this half term - we're going to be very busy indeed.
KS2 have already had their Literacy through football days - each class had a session in the PE Hall doing football skills and a session in class doing Literacy puzzles based around things to do with football.
In February, Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 are going to be visited by the Topsy Turvy Theatre Group who are going to perform 'Ruby Flew Too' the story of a little duckling as she grows up.
In March another theatre group is coming into school to perform 'Oliver Twist' to all classes from Reception to Year 6.
As you know, we like to support different charities to show how thankful we are that we have such a lot. This year, we will be supporting LEPRA once again. We are having a special assembly in February where we will find out all about it. It is also Sport Relief this year and we are hoping to have a 'Wear Something Sporty to School Day' to give our support.
Some school trips have already been planned. Year 4 are going to Eden Camp and Year 5 are going to Chester Zoo. I am sure other trips will be taking place too.
Year 6 are having a special day in school instead of going out somewhere. They are having a Dr. Who Writing Workshop Day on February 10th.
On Thursday this week we are having our breakfast themed school dinner - that sounds lovely!
Everyone will have started their new topics. Year 5 have their class assembly this week and I know it is based on what they are covering in their topic. I won't tell you what it is as it will spoil the surprise.
The Friends of Dalton group are meeting next week to discuss the activities that might be put on over the next two terms. I wouldn't be surprised if there is more Bingo on the way.
