enhahanced Curriculum entitlement

The Primary Specialist VI team support schools, pre-schools and families to deliver the eleven areas of The Curriculum Framework for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment.

https://www.rnib.org.uk/documents/428/CFVI_2025_English_APDf

The framework is designed to provide children with additional teaching and support over and above what is offered as Quality First Teaching.

The 11 areas are as follows:

  1. Facilitating an Inclusive World
  2. Sensory Development
  3. Communication
  4. Literacy
  5. Habilitation - Orientation and Mobility
  6. Habilitation - Independent living Skills
  7. Accessing in formation
  8. Technology
  9. Health, Social and Emotional and Physical Wellbeing
  10. Sports and Leisure
  11. Preparation for Adulthood

In Provision, each child has a record of the areas covered and direct teaching and support is offered during our morning session within provision which runs daily from 8.20am to 9am.

The CFVI informs teaching, intervention and advice offered by the team to our high level need children in outreach settings.
