Dalton Tots

Dalton Tots is our toddler group based in the main hall every Tuesday 9am until 11am.

The group is run by Angela Beaumont, our School Community Liaison, and many committed parent volunteers who make this group a huge success.

Our families in the local community are always welcome and highly valued.

We have a friendly baby corner which is very popular.  There is an arty/messy activity each week with good quality resources so that all our children are catered for from birth to 4.

We offer toast, fruit and mid-morning refreshments.  We have a key message each week promoting shared communication and language skills. At the end of each session we have story/singing/ring games/music sessions.

Our lending book library is then open and encouraged to be used by all.  Each child is provided with their own book bag.

There is a small charge of 50p per child (over one) At the end of each half term this pays for a trip to the play gym.

Progress of your child

Progress is documented through the 'Toddler Tracker'

This follows the same Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

It is a shared document between the family and school and is regularly updated by both.

 Quotes December 2019

"This group is brilliant for children and their early development, but also important for Parents who may be isolated or stuck at home for long periods.  It gives them a chance to socialise and have adult conversation. A, N, L and K do an amazing job (facilitator and core Parents who are crucial to the group) and we are all very thankful" - Dad L, former pupil who works shifts and alternates with his wife, and P.

"This group is a safe caring environment and everyone is made to feel welcome.  You and your child have the time to play together, as well as apart, and make new friends and build confidence and self-esteem.  We like using the library and are encouraged to read together" - N and M.

"So glad we discovered toddlers.  K was fed up at home and was ready for playgroup.  Fab place, fab staff"A and K.

"My child loves interacting with other children.  I like getting to know the other Mums and the seasonal activities.  It's a lovely place to go where everyone watches out for each other" - T and I.

"The environment is inviting for the children, the activities are well varied and we like the tea, toast and singing time" - D and K.

"We like meeting new people, the friendliness and being able to chat.  F likes the songs, the toys and being able to crawl around" - V and F.

We had a fabulous time at our Christmas party.  We played pass the parcel, had delicious party food and a visit from Santa himself!

We will be creating our new edition of the Toddler Rhyme book in 2020.

In preparation, be thinking of your child's favourite nursery rhyme so that we can add it to the collection.
